An international probate firm, Kemp & Associates of Salt Lake City, Utah, is led by Jeffrey Kemp as president and Daniel Mannix as VP/COO. Tom Kemp, Jeff's father, founded Kemp & Associates in 1966 to locate lost family members who were entitled to a portion of a deceased person’s estate. The firm has employees with a combined 500+ years of forensic genealogical experience. .

Kemp & Associates receives its caseload from attorneys, fiduciaries, estate managers, judges, and proprietary research. The firm is known for its attention to detail, providing documentation and genealogical records to the court for admissible verification of an heir's connection to an estate. Its representatives contact the lost or missing family members and inform them of their inheritance. If an estate's heirs cannot be located, the government can claim the assets that belong to the missing heirs

Kemp & Associates does not collect a payment until the heirs have received their assets. In the case that an heir does not receive a bequest or is not located, the firm is not paid. It is responsible for the expense of research and the documentation necessary to verify the heir's entitlement to a portion of the estate.
